Outfit 1: My Tribe leather jacket (similar real leather one for under $200),
American Apparel tee, American Apparel pleated skirt, UNIF flats (I
LOVE these but sadly spikes came out upon my third wear...I'm trying to
find replacement spikes)
Outfit 2: Old Navy cardigan, Zara top, Forever 21 shorts
Outfit 3: Topshop military jacket (last worn here;
most perfect airport jacket while lugging four bags due to all the
pockets for ID/cellphone/money), Forever 21 denim shirt, Topshop skirt
(still available in red and navy),
Chinatown jade bangles (I've been pleading my mom to bring some back
from China every summer but she keeps forgetting), Rebecca Minkoff bag
Outfit 4: Zara shirt, Zara skirt, Asos sunglasses
The bay area climate was much cooler than I'd anticipated but thankfully I discovered my leather jacket in the depths of my packed luggage for my move to NYC. I spent most of my time strolling along beaches, hunting down Sichuanese restaurants, gorging on $1 pastries in Chinatown, and visiting music landmarks. I also had the pleasure of meeting up with Shella for a brief coffee break. ---------------------------------------------------
So I am officially moved into my apartment here in Brooklyn. I flew into NYC at 5am in the morning today, checked in, bought groceries/home goods, went to the storage facility, moved my stuff from this summer back to my new apartment, and unpacked my necessities. Amazon was a lifesaver since I could time the delivery of my all packages to exactly today (apartment won't take packages before I check in, yet I need necessities like shower curtain and linens immediately).
An amazing coincidence that I have to share: I originally booked a taxi from NYC Yellow Cab to arrive at my storage facility at 5:05PM...by the time it was 5:55PM the cab was still "on its way over" and the storage place was closing at 6PM. Luckily I happened to overhear that the girl and her mom at the loading dock also was going to the same Brooklyn Law apartment complex I was moving to, so I asked if I could borrow their mover+truck for my 4-6 boxes. What are the chances of someone just so happen to move from the same storage facility into the same apartment, at the same time? She is also an engineering major, going to BLS (obviously), and from the South.
I was worried about the logistics of so many details today but I kept telling myself that everything will work out fine...and it did.
