asos skirt (here, similar: 1, 2 ), c/o rowme shirt , vintage belt (similar), river island leopard loafers (similar: 1, 2, 3. 4), vintage gold bracelet (similar: 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5), asos portfolio clutch (similar: 1, 2, 3, identical one in cherry red)
I love this skirt!!! The cut is so my signature style. Expect another outfit remixing it soon. I'm currently in love with constructing an outfit around a single color family ...mint with turquoise, tangerine with neon orange, pink with scarlet, camel with brown. A recent closet clean-out and many trips to the Goodwill donation box later, I've realized my purchases should focus more on basics in different colors rather than wear-once-then-stash pieces. I'm also starting to shop for fall and can't stop myself from staring at pretty objects way out of my price range (exhibit A)...feel free to suggest a cheaper alternative to that last example by the way since apparently I'm going through a sequin obsession phase. I definitely appreciated the suggestions on my facebook status for basic black ballet flats; I'm probably going to try to find the discounted Ralph Lauren ones somewhere.
I'm curious to know, what are some of you guys' shopping strategies? What would your perfect closet consist of? My perfect closet would be about a third vintage, a lot of quality basics, and the rest crazy fun pieces.

I'm always impressed how you combine the colors of your outfits. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteYour same-color-family outfits are gorgeous! :)
ReplyDeleteHmm ... I just had the same revelation about the need for "basics in different colors." I would never have thought of that before, but putting outfits together and taking photos made me realize my closet is woefully devoid of color in certain areas.
Very cute I love the loafers!

I saw this look on Chictopia and it really caught my eye. Those colors are incredible together! I'm reminded as to how much I need to build a wardrobe of quality basics. I also love thrift store finds and cheap thrills from places like F21 and H&M. Cheers from California!

I love this. Everything about it. Those leopard loafers are fantastic! I could have sworn I'd seen a pair of sparkly loafer-esque shoes on one of the cheaper chain store sites. My initial thought was F21 but they weren't there. If I remember I'll be sure to hand over the info. Those ones are really lovely.

i love your combination of colors! And that skirt just has the most perfect flare!
ReplyDeleteI looooove your loafers. If you dont mind me asking, do those loafers run true to size? Because I am contemplating getting the same pari. They are truly divine!!! I am in the UK for a litttle and I would loove to get them but I do not know my size here.
ReplyDeleteanon: I got an US size 9 (which they said was 40 in european sizing) and it's slightly too big...as in maybe by 1/2 size or so. Not enough to cause them to slip off due to walking and I doubt the shoes will stretch out much since it's synthetic.
