forever 21 jacket and silk tank, DIY brocade skirt, vintage belt, garage sale+yochi designs necklaces, colin stuart pumps, asos envelope clutch
I gave up on finding a picture of me with non wind-mussed hair but gave up since it was just way too windy when we took these on the rooftop. We've been moving from one apartment to another for the past 2 weeks so excuse the lack of outfit posts. The temperature difference between outside (105F) and inside (60-70F) also has made me lazy in getting dressed. I finally got this little forever 21 jacket to layer on top of everything in order to make the temperature transition easier. How cool is this belt? Some of you might have seen it presented in a very different manner on my facebook (LINK) when my belt got in the hands of my fellow researchers. I also found the sea creatures necklace for $10 at a garage sale and am currently obsessed with how detailed each trinket is. I've also been asked several times on a tutorial to make this skirt. I made a diagram for the pattern HERE. As you can see, it's just a regular circle skirt and the two measurements can be varied to your liking. Then just add a "pocket" for the elastic, thread the elastic through, and hem. Simple and if you're a skilled seamstress you might finish in an hour (it took me 6 hours though since it was the first piece of garment I've ever made). Anyway, I've been packing all night and I need a quick nap! Hope everyone's having a great weekend.
PS. I stopped using flickr so now you can use the clipper from polyvore!!

this outfit is amazing!reminds me of Blair from Atlantic-Pacific :)

Love the jacket. I'm not usually a fan of the sea creatures thing, but that starfish is so cool!
ReplyDeleteThe skirt and belt together is gorgeous!
ReplyDeletefabulous love the necklace so much :)
ReplyDeletebtw I did my nails just by simply trying to paint the half in green and half in pink haha and to cover that attempt I used a silver glitter nail liner (I can easily get them at $2.50 here in Korea) in the center
it doesn't matter how straight or curvy you make the lines because they still look great because of glitters?
anyways fabulous look again :)

That belt is to die for! Great outfit!!!
ReplyDeleteThe combination of the blue/green hues and the starfish necklace has me inspired to go on a beach vacation. I love the way you've added the neutral jacket, belted the waist and styled it with neutral shoes - so flattering. I'd love to see more of your sewing projects if you do any in the future. The skirt is stunning!
ReplyDeletethat DIY skirt is fantastic, great cargo jacket for a layering piece I love that fab belt!
