Just a quick update. I've been busy running around town and campus doing other things than taking pictures for the blog so expect a relatively lack of (outfit) posts for the next few days unless I find some time to dress creatively. I will be posting a few fashion-related tips and etc. though...
It is officially summer weather here already...and I feel like we were cheated out of a nice spring climate (just like how we went from 70 degrees to 40 degrees last fall). When it's too hot to wear layers, I rely on combining little details in order to make my outfit still interesting. I included lace and a scalloped hem in this outfit...still pretty simple and breezy to wear but much more interesting imo than a simple t-shirt and jean shorts. I've been apartment/house-hunting for next year of college as well as taking exams in addition to prepping for the upcoming onslaught that is SXSW. Hope to see some of you guys in town!
I managed to stock up on a few accessories (mostly for this winter/fall) in the 90% clearance sales online. Above is a snippet of what I got from ideeli. Not pictured is a faux leopard vest and some black ear muffs. I really adore the convertible clutch since it's oversized and there's so much detailing going on. I've notice my obsession with detailing extends into my bag collection...every single bag has 10,000 trends all clashing together. Take my minkoff bag for example: fringe, zippers, fold-over flap, studs, chain, leather, and taupe. Hrm...

Extreme weather sucks. I'm sure you'll get some nice days here and there.
ReplyDeleteI just finished apartment hunting for the summer! I found the cutest little (1 bedroom, very little) apartment. Never had my own place so I'm excited like a 4 year old haha...
I love the lace top. I also think loose maxi skirts and long loose dresses are great for summer weather :)

I love peoples outfit posts when they don't post pictures. Well they normally wouldn't I would live to see what you wear when you don't "think how it will look" on camera
ReplyDeletethese shorts are perfection - i was looking for a pair just like these, with smaller scallops on the bottom.

Pretty outfit! I've been hunting for a pair of scalloped shorts myself. I just had to say that I LOVE that you are a hot engineer!! I am an engineer (software) myself and I always got strange looks as well for dressing up nice for school. I also find sometimes you get judged negatively for it, as if wearing oversized, boring clothing is a sign of intelligence - do you find that too? Anyways, great blog!
ReplyDeleteCute shorts!
