So far you guys have seen me organizing my necklaces on 3M wall hooks and stacking my bracelets on a paper towel rack. Now, here's a sneak peek into how I've recently decided to organize my jewelry when I'm traveling! As you guys may know, not only do I travel around for vacations, music/fashion events, I also travel on a weekly basis back and forth between my apartment and Tim's house. I've been annoyed with breaking some of my favorite pieces by haphazardly stuffing them into the luggage bag or thinking I've lost a few rings only to rediscover them 2 months later after they've been replaced. When I complained to Tim that I needed something similar to a pillbox to organize my rings for home and traveling, he suggested these cheap plastic containers usually used for storing fishing baits! Ingenious.
Since I used to fish with my parents back in New Mexico all the time, I can't believe I didn't think of using these myself. They come in all shapes and sizes and are all under $10. I bought these at Academy but I'm sure you can get them online (Amazon?) or perhaps even at Wal-Mart. I love how they keep my rings easily organized (compared to HERE) so Tim doesn't have to go digging through my pile of rings to find the ones we share (I buy a lot of men's rings...for example my skull ones). I also love how none of my necklaces tangle into a confusing jumble like they used to. Hope this little trick helps you guys as much as it helped me!

That's a cool idea not only on how to organise jewelry when travelling but also at home! My drawer is full or boxes and jewerly cases, where inside I have my necklaces places in pouches!
ReplyDeleteThe only jewerly that do not "suffer" are my long earrings, as at some point I bought one of those woman shaped hangers and hanged them all there...
I think its a pretty good idea to find some clear boxes like yours...This way I'll always remember what I own (I forget, as they are all cramped)
