lulu's dress, rebecca minkoff purse, dolce vita shoes, manifest manifest vintage necklace, forever 21 nude slip dress (underneath)
Wearing all my recent purchases in one post. I am not huge on most of the clothing associated with the 70's trend (jeans overdose, bell-bottoms) but today I'm wearing the few things I do love: vintage-y lace, the little white dress, fringe (although I usually prefer the 1920's interpretation better), and turquoise jewelry. I love Kristine's new store and totally addicted to her jewelry section! I don't want to give the url away because I want to purchase all of the stuff but then again I really want everyone to support her store! This turquoise necklace is highly collectible since it has such large pieces of turquoise in it. Tim, who used to make turquoise/silver Navajo-esque jewelry says it's his favorite from my collection which makes it even more precious to me.
These were the shoes I got yesterday and are the most awesome pair I've got...expect to see them LOTS in the upcoming days.
I didn't do much today after going out two nights in a row except napping, grocery shopping, eating pizza and reading school material but it was a nice day in general. The only "exciting" part of the day was when we went out to eat and when I ordered a chicken salad sandwich, it came out tuna salad...twice. I'm not sure how the cook made the mistake of scooping out from the wrong container twice but I felt really bad about the wasted food so we boxed it up and gave it to the homeless outside. That made me feel slightly better about returning the plate to the waitress twice and sadly was really the highlight of my day... haha.
PS. Liana asked me how to make the background blurry. It's the camera lens that's doing the trick and can't be achieve on a point and shoot camera. Read bakerella's post on cameras and scroll down to the "50mm lens" part. The only difference is mine is a f/1.4 (the higher quality version and makes backgrounds slightly blurrier) instead of the f/1.8 which is unnecessary if you aren't going to keep your camera around in your bag/purse...but I personally take my camera to a lot of events and reviews on Amazon says the more affordable version falls apart easier due to cheaper construction. The quality in pictures is about the same though! Hope that helps a lot of other similar question about my photos.

ReplyDeleteI love the new shoes :) I was also wondering, how often do you buy clothes/shoes? A lot of bloggers seem to have an inordinate amount of income dedicated to new purchases, as evident by their posts. (Also, I've been on shopping hiatus; as you can see, it's killing me slowly)...But yea, just wondering :)

loving the dress :D
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice of you to give your sandwiches to the homeless. So many people would have just left it on the table, but you took the extra time to help someone in need. Props to you! And btw, I love that outfit!
ReplyDeletehiyee, maybe yo have said before, but where did you get that minkoff purse and how much (if you don't mind) was it?
ReplyDeleteCutelilmeeh:
ReplyDeleteI don't know what it retailed for, probably a bit above $350-400, but I got it for $179 on gilt. I think it's sold out in this color now? I would watch for upcoming ideeli/gilt sales for similar rebecca minkoff styles.
I got a lot of use out of it. Right now it's waiting for when I feel like carrying a small bag again (right now I'm into large totes thanks to not having any time to change purses so I want something that can hold notes and textbooks).
