what I wore today to frolic around and to eat peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie bars with. MMMMMMM. the pictures don’t do justice to this dress. That's bf's dog Ace in the last picture... named after AC/DC (and his cat is named Rosie).
Will answer questions soon!
UPDATE: I bought THESE!!!! :D to those that asked where they're from... bakersshoes.com

skirt: UO clearance, shirt: f21, blazer: thrifted/vintage, shoes: modcloth
I wore this today since I am currently in conservative San Saba and not Austin… basically where my bf is and thus where I am every weekend. I love this skirt!!! I got it along with yesterday’s purple skirt in the mail. Isn’t there just something amazing about opening packages???? Somehow stuff that comes in the mail is just much more magical than stuff bought from a store. Anyway, I’m a sucker for anything beaded, embellished, feathered, or sequined so this skirt called out to me.

A couple things came in the mail today... one's from Carlye at Epic Records with a Lamb of God vinyl and some new signed/collector's albums from Mudvayne, Chevelle, Vedera, & Lenka. Thanks Carlye! Second, a package with two skirts came from Urban Outfitters... I've been looking at the skirts and contemplating on whether or not to purchase them until they went on super sale. I've been currently refraining from purchasing anything I can't come up with at least five different outfits with. The two skirts I got passed this test but many many things I wanted while I was in NYC failed the test miserably. I don't NEED a third cream/white dress when I can expand my wardrobe with some other unique piece. As a result, I went into Topshop, Zara, and H&M loving many but purchasing none. I didn't want to buy something just because these stores don't exist in Austin.

"Does this dress make me look fat?"

vintage fur, f21 dress
Apparently a certain someone thinks this dress is unflattering aka fattening due to its horizontal stripes. However, I still love it so much!!! I wore it during the cold spell this week with some thermals and wool tights. Snow in Texas is such a miracle. I know this is a boring outfit... I promise to post more interesting stuff later! Anyway, I haven't shared a music video in a while... although I don't know how many of you gals/guys actually stop to listen to it. This one's by Halestorm (genre: rock)

PS. this is a food plate rendition of me:

  • 1. Here's what I saw yesterday...from the outfit in THIS post. I'm entered as one of the 14 entrants to win a balenciaga bag! So awesome. Knowing my extremely bad luck in giveaways, I probably won't win. However, here's to hoping?
  • 2. Another pic from NYFW, HERE'S the rest of the photos.
  • 3. Outfit that I meant to post LONG time ago, but never did: colin stuart boots, vintage blazer, old navy shirt, f21 skirt
  • 4. HOW SHOULD I WEAR THIS DRESS? I made it and the black belt doesn't seem to do it justice... since it was my 2nd project I sucked and made the waist 2 inches too big... so until I have time to fix it I'll have to belt it...only question is, what color of belt/accessories shoudl I choose? I want a luella vibe to this... very spring-like. Maybe I should go through the luella archives?
Oh, it's my blog's 6 weeks! Thanks to everyone who's followed and commented... I never thought a nerd like me would get so many people that care about what I wear. :D

blah, I feel so gross today... probably because of my ear infection. I basically dragged around all day, taking a couple pictures, helping the bf in setting up his record company's website and eating wayyy too much at a chinese food restaurant. Here are some misc pictures I found on my computer today... from my 1920's bday party (when I turned 20) and my 1950's tea party (when I turned 21). I always have a themed bday bash around my bday... and yes, I made the cake/cupcakes.

modified trashy diva dress, f21 necklaces, charlotte russe belt.
I love this dress soooo much! I wore it to the chictopia10 afterparty but didn’t get a decent picture taken of it so I decided to wear it again today. These gloves are spiked so I LOVE wearing them with very feminine dresses. This dress, with its red hot color and the sweet 50’s silhouette, provided the perfect medium for some tougher accessories. It was 60 degrees today so I actually got to wear it without a jacket! Yay to Texas for warming up already… although I’m going to hate my life when it’s 105 degrees out for June, July, August.
Yeah so the dress was being blown up by the wind during the couple of pictures we were taking so I started cracking up.Picture 4 is the result of that... blooper?
Btw, I still suck at this twitter thing... don't get all the # and @ yet... :(

So I decided to attempt to wear this skirt a different way since I wondered if such a loud skirt could be versatile. HERE'S what I did with the skirt last time. I loved the peplum nature of this jacket so I decided to play it up with the poufy skirt and the corset belt. It's been insanely busy the past few days... midterms leading up to the NYC trip and then midterms and labs immediately after. Now I'm just glad it's the weekend.
Sorry the quality of these pics suck... we just took some pics on our way down the hill from my apartment to the pickup so we can get dinner so these were a bit hurried. MMMM oversized chocolate chip pancakes and chicken/guacamole/cheese wraps...I think I love food a bit TOO much...
PS I GOT A TWITTER SO FOLLOW ME if you want! I love you all for being such a supportive community and I'm sorry I suck at returning comments! As always, if it's urgent please email me.

Thanks everyone for following me here on blogger/bloglovin! I FINALLY got a twitter account so if you want, you can follow me on there as well. :)
Anyway, here's the picture taken from the afterparty at Tribeca Grand this weekend... haha my bf looks like a deer in headlights but I swear I didn't force him to go!! Strange how a bunch of fashion insiders thought he was a designer/complimented him on his clothes. We both laughed at that since he just dressed like he always has for rock shows... metal band tshirt (Slayer in this instance), broken teeth jacket, and rocker jewelry. Here's the LINK to the party for more pics of the night.
To answer a few QUESTIONS on the previous posts: bag is from leonello borghi bought from gilt troupe at the final clearance event for 85% off (still $248 though... damn), shoes are from lulus (sold out now but I think still available at nastygal), and YES I did really meet jane from seaofshoes although I only got to talk to her for like a minute.
I also got an invite from the adorable Indiana for a 20-ppl sxsw fashion brunch with media from Rare magazine, news8, weardrobe.com, and Market Publique here in Austin! How fabulous is that? If you will be in the Austin area on March 12th, please join us for the Boutique Crawl (which occurs after the brunch) to visit all of the fabulous vintage shops and neat boutiques here in Austin! Here's what she had to say about the boutique crawl:
"from the brunch location, we will walk one mile to our first destination- Eliza Page, where she will have champagne for us. We will also pick up our boutique crawl badges that some shops will honor with a store discount. From here we'll cover the entire 2nd Street District. Next we'll do a craft with the women from The WonderCraft, and then we'll walk 1.4 miles to the shops on South Congress (excellent vintage down there!).  The crawl will be over by 6:00 p.m., but some people may opt to have dinner together."
Anyway, here's what I wore on the way back from NYC... I flew in comfort (relatively)... this silk dress from f21 is probably as close to wearing a nightgown as you can get without looking sloppy. I ate so much junk food on the trip that it was probably a good idea anyway. I have a weakness for sweets and anything fried but I usually don't indulge. However, I figured it's a vacation so I should just eat without worrying about it all for a couple of days! I had a great time in NYC... didn't get to go to Crumbs like I planned to (bf has a thing for red velvet cake and I wanted him to go try it with me) or the Prosperity Dumplings place! Boo. I'm such a pig... I planned out all of the places I wanted to eat at first before I planned out the shopping/touristy places I wanted to visit. I'm planning on going next season already... it was so fun just to be in New York! Plus the limo ride through Times Square was strangely romantic since it was on Valentine's Day.
For more NYC-related pictures, please scroll down to the previous post.. and let me know if you would like to exchange links (on the most current post please, I suck at answering comments on older posts).

UPDATE: Just realized it's my blog's 5-week birthday! Thanks to everyone for following/linking me! Sorry I suck at responding to comments but if you have something urgent, email me and I promise I'll respond!!!

nyc pictures... i had the worst of camera luck... either I forgot the camera at key events or the battery died. anyway, I got to meet LOTS of awesome bloggers and vintage store owners and what not...and some people tried to take decent pics of me while I was in bryant park... they probably failed since I was trying to stumble around in stilettos on snow/ice for the first time in my life. nevertheless, I got photographed by a bunch of random indie magazine promoters and by Style and the City... and got to talk to jane/judy, camille (for 2 seconds), carolina (fashion squad), carlye and gemma (fadetoblack). So many stylish people! Erin from Crossroads Trading Co. and Susan from Modcloth were all really fun to talk to. Everyone's so cute and personable! btw HOW AWESOME are those jewelry by triskaidekaphobia? Snatch them up on revolve! If only the chainmail were done in gunmetal and I would probably cough up all my savings for it.The night pictures were when the bf decided to surprise me with a night's worth of limo riding around times square and to the afterparty at Tribeca Grand. It was pretty weird when a cop calls out from his car at my bf: "are you a follower of the KISS army?" (he had a band jacket on with a KISS applique) bahahhaa. Gotta love rockers. The boyfriend wanted to stop by Hard Rock Cafe and we took pics of him with every single guitar... he was especially excited to see the Slayer one.

WILL GET BACK TO LINKS EXCHANGES SOON!
