last but not least...(meant to be an outtake but it ended up being really funny)

asos floral dress, forever 21 jacket, necessary clothing shoes, street vendor/H+M scarves
So yeah that last picture isn't meant to be on this blog...only supposed to end up on my personal fb account but it ended up being a good photo... or at least a funny one.
I looooove florals, lace, flouncy skirts and moody colors and this dress bought from the asos 80% clearance section a couple years back still remains one of my most frequently worn dresses of all time. I'm currently into doubling up on scarves since they're the most inexpensive way to add dimension to an outfit. I'm also into color mixing right now; it's something that I've never been very experienced at doing. I'm still the most comfortable still in all black clothing (kind of like yesterday's outfit).
Suddenly I have free time and I don't know what to do with myself...back to playing instruments and drawing.
PS. Did anyone else stay out until wee hours of the morning just to capture the eclipse on camera? I was standing out in the cold for more than an hour with a DSLR and a tripod…haha. I also watched the epigenetics special while waiting for the eclipse and the special was actually quite detailed... Tim made fun of me for being a science geek but he ended up being just as excited as I was about the eclipse :)

great photos and outfit, esp the jacket! i wish i could take photos outside, the natural lighting is perfect! but its too darn cold in NY!
ReplyDeleteSo envious you get to walk outside. It's freezing over here. Snow everywhere. Nice pictures!
ReplyDeleteI love love love this outfit. Those shoes get me every time, the jacket fits you perfectly, the flounciness factor of the dress/skirt is beyond perfect, and you're right about the added dimensions of multiple scarves. Awesome outfit, as always. Hope you're enjoying the break; you've earned it!
ReplyDeletegorgeous outfit and background!
ReplyDeleteLovely photo of the eclipse, and love the scarves too.
ReplyDeletetonia, nah that wasn't a picture of the eclipse... I got some of those but haven't edited them yet. That's a picture of the moon showing up right before the sun setting; it's so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThe second last photo is breathtaking...I would have been just as excited had I known because the beauty of it is just otherworldly and it looks like a once in a lifetime opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLucky girl. :)
Love from Toronto, Canada
Really love the layering, I need to learn from you the art of layering clothes, I'm so bad at it!! I didnt stay up to watch the eclipse I wish I did, but working from 8-5 and being sleepy in the middle of working is just not a good choice of staying up and watch eclipse.
ReplyDeleteI heard you about old clothing, I do the same thing too, grabbing from the end of my closet!!!

Angga: awww working xmas week! :( totally understand... i wouldn't have done it if it was during school and also, part of the reason it was so fun was because I was out in the middle of the country where there's no interfering lights!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, really love the florals and the pics! These photos are just awesome to see, and I can't wait to see your edited eclipse photos! Totally envious since the rain here prevented me from seeing the eclipse.
ReplyDeletewow you actually caught an eclipse..cool...
ReplyDeletethe photos looks soo much fun...and i really love the leather/floral combo.....thats my fav...!!!!!

I love how you piled up those scarves; I have been experimenting something like that too. The dress looks gret with them and your color mixing is fabulous! Keep it going! :D
ReplyDeleteWow, you look great. I love the mix of florals. And the last two photos are great. First one is amazingly atmospheric. Second one is so fun - I posted a supposed out-take too today. There must be something going round.

Haha, I laughed when I saw that photo pop up on Facebook yesteday. So glad you included it here! I totally love all the colors in your outfits lately. I'm the opposite of you, I feel so weird in all black. I'm much more comfortable in color.
ReplyDeleteOooh, and I just bought a jacket like that the other day, this is some great inspiration for how to style it!

You look so pretty when you smile. :) I love florals too, even though they're everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI love how you mixed the leather jacket with floral patterns and bright colors. They work well together.
ReplyDeleteI love how you double layered your scarves without having them being too "matchy matchy" with the rest of your outfit, it just turned out great.
Very colorful and chic.
ReplyDeleteloving all the layers!
