vintage blouse, f21 skirt, asos clutch, colin stuart pumps, modified f21 necklace
It's late and I've got class early in the morning so I'm not going to write much tonight. This is what I wore yesterday to the Austin City Wide Garage Sale and also later that day to the fashion show rehearsal. I'm modeling for my designer friend Laisa in a show coming up in August; more details soon but it's going to be pretty awesome so if you're in Austin and free on August 14th in the evening, please mark your calendars. I also ended up wearing this again to a chinese buffet after deciding my belted outfit wasn't going to cut it for a pig out session...will post that outfit later. The lighting in these photos are gorgeous and finally does justice to this blouse that I've been wearing to death lately. I'm totally obsessed with vintage lace things ... especially lace blouses. I love how the blouse softens up the leather skirt and makes it more feminine. The skirt was a new find in the f21 clearance section; forgotten and unloved because leather's kind of too cheesy avant-garde for the ATX so everything leather always gets marked down to under $10. I'm always up for leather even though I've got a bazillion pieces of them since no matter if they're on trend for fashion, they'll always be perfect for rock/metal concerts. I scored BIG at thrifting today; someone donated all of their italian/snake/urugray leather belts to the store and I picked all of them up! Perfect since I got rid of so many f21 belts I've accumulated over the years a few weeks back. You've probably noticed I wear belted silhouettes all the time so these will definitely be in heavy rotation. It's a good thing that Tim loves thrift stores as well for the electronics section (geek!) so I'm getting back into thrifting more again. Poo on previous bf that was too snooty for thrift stores and wore only designer jeans + ralph lauren polos (nothing wrong with that, just not me).
Oops. I guess I wrote too much again, heh I'm a talkative one eh?

ReplyDeleteLove this look-- you've balanced out your proportions really well by pairing the oversized blouse with a tight skirt... and of course you've done a great job balancing masculine with feminine as per usual. Great!
