Outfit: This is what I wore to my shopping trip yesterday; a little breezy dress (I always wear things that are easy to change in and out of when shopping for clothes) and some summery sandals. This belt was thrifted last weekend along with 3 other quality leather belts but it's by far my favorite due the buckle having a hidden "back hook" instead of the usual women's "front hook" (no clue what the technical term is?). The necklace from forever 21 was purchased yesterday and I promptly put it on (does anyone else immediate wear something upon purchasing?) when walking out the store...I love the woven suede/rhinestone/chain detailing so much! Forever 21 is the best for cheap cute jewelry and sunglasses. I often do modify my necklaces from there by layering them, twisting a couple necklaces together, removing cheesy fabric flower brooches or stupid lockets/hearts/etc from them. As for these shoes, I STILL can't believe I had such good luck in thrifting them. So perfect.
Birthday: After having to go to class and research all day, I barely had about 1 hr to change into something "old hollywood glamor" and to post the first set of bday pictures. I ended up wearing the dress from this post since I figured my birthday was totally an excuse to overdress. After hurrying to the Cheesecake Factory (an old standby now for my birthday) I got to chat and pig out on cheesecake (my choice: chocolate tuxedo) and pasta with some awesome people. Due to my procrastination in sending out invites and actually planning this event, a couple people couldn't make it for various trips and reasons but this way we got to sit in one cozy round booth instead of having a couple tables shoved together. I would have more pictures of the dinner but I'm too lazy to resize and upload to flickr...plus I figure that not everyone wants to see 10000 pics of my bday dinner ;). I'll be lazying around for the rest of today by having a burger (mmm), going to The Domain and then possibly Goodwill, and picking up some more red velvet cupcakes for the bf since he greatly enjoyed the ones I bought on Thursday. PS. Thank you all for the birthday wishes! I'm now 22 ;)

hey girl - happy late birthday! I got your tweet the other day and I really really wish I could come to a fashion brunch! Hopefully after summer my work hours will go back to what they were and I'll have some free time in the mid-day hours. I'm running so ragged I can hardly call myself a blogger anymore - and worse, no internet while in Little Rock the past few days - terrible!
ReplyDeleteYour dress is BEAUTIFUL - holy geeze.

I hope you had a great birthday and I love your womens dress. I really like the pattern of the fabric and how you matched it with the necklace. Great looking outfit and I compliment you on that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good night. I was so rushed and late that I forgot there was a theme.. such fail.
ReplyDeleteI like how you shop at the Domain AND Goodwill. Two completely different price ranges and ways of shopping, which I think is a testiment to people with real style. Wearing all expensive and designer duds just means you have money, not style.
P.S. that Asos dress is gorg! <3 ASOS
