Oh and a reader emailed me the other day:I happen have a polka dot skirt similar... here's how I've worn it in the past. I love little polka dot skirts... graphic shirts, simple tees, and cream blouses all go perfectly with them.

First, I love your blog and your style!! And am so envious of your jacket collection and leggings!! Love how you team things up and come out unique!
Needed some style help from you, if you please, since I trust your style! So, I have this cute black polka dotted skirt that my bro's gf gifted to me. It looks something like this
Now, I have tried many combinations with this but nothing seems to look as good in person as it is when imagined. Being a grad student that I am, I have given up on spending much time on deciding the right look for this skirt. Since I really value your opinion, I thought let me ask you! If you have time, you can help me with it! :)
